Second Annual Back-to-School Bash Set for Saturday at Cane Ridge High School

As the summer winds down and back-to-school season looms around the corner, Connectus Health invites the community to a free Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, July 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Cane Ridge High School in Antioch.

The first 700 students to attend the public event geared toward teens and their families will receive free sling bags stuffed with school supplies. The event will also include door prize giveaways, a DJ, games and inflatables, a pizza lunch, an appearance by Nashville Sounds mascot Booster the Rooster, shaved ice from Kona Ice and more.

Suzanne Hurley, co-CEO at Connectus Health, says that the organization’s goal was to double the number of backpacks distributed at this year’s event.

“Last year was our first Back-to-School Bash, and we loved being able to bring our community together and provide them with the tools they need to be successful in school, while having a great time,” Hurley said. “Our main goal when planning this year’s event was to double the number of backpacks that we’ll give away, and we’re proud to say that we surpassed that goal and are upping that number from 300 to 700 this year.”

Every 20 to 30 minutes, a DJ will announce winners of teen and family-oriented giveaways. Door prizes include free Maggie Moo’s ice cream for a year; 2 hours of bowling plus shoe rental for four people from Tusculum Lanes; an eight-person game to Breakout Nashville; a pack of four Nashville Sounds tickets; a $50 game play card for Topgolf Nashville; a $45 Chuy’s gift card, and more.

Through the end of August, Connectus Health is offering free immunizations and physicals for children 18 and under. Back-to-School Bash attendees will be able to sign up for appointments at the event. To learn more about Connectus Health, call (615) 292-9770 or email
